沖縄の焼物のうち琉球王府時代の六古窯の流れをくみ、さらに壺屋焼の影響を受けながら沖縄県域全体で焼かれている焼物。壺屋焼以外の陶器を琉球焼と称し、主として日常的な器を生産している。
Deriving from the six famous ceramics kilns from the age of the royal administration of Ryūkyū, Ryūkyū Ceramics is a form of Okinawan ceramics which takes on further influence from Tsuboya Ceramics and is practiced in all areas of Okinawa Prefecture. Anything that does not fall under the category of Tsuboya Ceramics is known as Ryūkyū Ceramics and consists mainly of everyday vessels and containers.
